In the summer of 2005 Kestrel Contractors were contracted to design and construct a brand new full size professional standard polo field for the reigning Kings Cup champions, the prestigious Dubai Polo Team.

Scope of works
The job involved extensive earthworks and land drainage installation and as such Kestrel's own specialist equipment and experience were integral to the finished surface, which was another another high profile project of which Kestrel Contractors can be extremely proud.
The tricky nature of the job threw up a number of new challenges but the Kestrel team managed to rise to the task and their dedication certainly paid off as the job picked up pace and amazingly the field was ready for play ahead of schedule, only 6 months after Kestrel started on site.

There were over 40,000 cubic metres of earth movement in the project to create the new polo field plateau and in addition a 7.5m litre reservoir was constructed, a full irrigation system designed and installed, a comprehensive drainage system installed, sand amelioration undertaken and associated landscaping completed.
Kestrel once again showed their versatility in the sports field construction arena and provided a surface which exceeded the expectations of the client, which is the aim at the start of every project.
In this instance Kestrel Contractors not only provided a professional service but also completed the project with a very high level of efficiency.
The construction commenced in August and the favourable weather conditions allowed works to carry through September and October of 2005 and the pitch was established and ready for play during the 2006 season.
