Football Pitch Construction and Training Ground Renovation
Southampton FC Training Ground
Kestrel were contracted to carry out construction work at Southampton FC’s Marchwood Training Ground, performing major improvements to 6 academy football pitches and the main first team training pitch.
The football pitches were stripped off with a bulldozer, new sand was added to the existing topsoil before the pitches were re-levelled. Sand slitting was then installed prior to the playing surface being seeded.
Several training grids were constructed and a sub-base prepared for the installation of a new 3rd generation artificial surface.
Dave Roberts head Groundman stated; 'Kestrel came in and superseded our expectations, the quality of the pitches are first class, but as well as that they are easy to communicate with and work at a good pace'.
Southampton have been delighted with the surfaces Kestrel constructed and as a results have put their faith in Kestrel to undertake all of their end of season renovation works at the training ground and at the main stadium.
